I'm fully prepared to go above and beyond to address your needs, and I'm committed to building a strong therapeutic relationship. I'm excited for the opportunity to be a part of your support network moving forward, and I'm confident that you will make progress as we work together in an effort for you to identify and realize your goals. As a counselor, I maintain a collaborative approach and take pride in establishing new partnerships. Without a doubt, I know that we can work together to define the appropriate goals and start down a path of healing and Recovery. I would be honored to be a part of your journey as we both grow together towards the realization of your fullest potential. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Georgia and completed my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Troy University. I'm a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors and a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) through the Alcohol & Drug Abuse Certification Board of Georgia. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with a Person-Centered approach. I explore the relationship between our thoughts, emotions and behaviors while understanding the importance of autonomy. These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for James McCann. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
James has been wonderful and always comes with a compassionate lens. He takes the time to really understand where you’re coming from, with no judgement. He is very patient and kind and takes a lot of care into his responses and gently guides you on paths to help unblock you.
I’ve tried intake sessions with others on BetterHelp before, and this is the first type of therapy I’ve ever tried, but it has been day & night even on our first call on how James handled his sessions, to me vs the others I’ve found on this platform.

James wanted to know what it was that I wanted to talk about and was very responsive to what I was talking about and helped me get through what I felt I needed to get through.
