About me

My name is James “Ryan” White. I am a licensed therapist in the state of Alabama. I have been a therapist for more than nine years. I have been licensed for almost 5 years. I specialize in dialectical behavioral therapy. Specifically, DBT informed therapy. What that means for my clients is real solutions to problems quickly using DBT skills. DBT skills allow you to better control and understand your emotions. These skills have worked wonders with my clients with depressive disorders, panic disorders, and PTSD. I specialize in personality disorders as well. Over the years I have worked with adults with mental disorders as well as substance abuse difficulties. I look forward to working with you and helping you to identify goals- so that you can look forward to life after whatever difficulties you’re having now . Remember whatever brings you here is just a chapter of your life it’s not the whole book. Let’s work together to rewrite your story so that you look forward to the days ahead.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for James White. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

There aren’t a whole lot of people in the world I trust anymore.( Trauma hasn’t made me a a very trusting person; but ….it did make me funny so I got that going for me. ) However … I trusted this man with my life and I’m still here.

Nothing will happen unless you put in the work and if you are willing to pay your dues so to speak the skills he teaches you will become invaluable. You’ll hear the phrase “this five minutes” more than you’ll ever want to. A more caring or compassionate therapist you won’t find anywhere else. He’s not clinical , in fact he’s the opposite which is why his style worked for me. I don’t think I would still be here if I got one of the run of the mill worksheet therapists. He listened to me when no one else would and saw me at some of the darkest moments of my life and somehow managed to lead me out of that hellscape of my mind to help me better deal with our current capitalist hellscape “ Yay I can cope better as we watch the world burn”

Is it catastrophic thinking if it’s really happening?

He’s got your back though, and holds the sword while you replace your armor, tend to your wounds and manage to get back up off the ground to fight another battle , another day.

James Ryan White is hands down my best therapist. He gets me, he remembers what's going on. I take advantage of his group at times too. He responds, works @ my schedule, keeps me accountable and my life has improved

James has been my therapist on and over for years now. I’ve always tried to find a way back into a session with him. He’s a straight forward person and very honest. He’s helped me through my darkest times and I’m grateful to have met him
