About me

Welcome to BetterHelp! I am a licensed therapist with over twelve years of experience in individual, family, and group therapy. I am passionate about supporting others in their journey to find inner peace and balance. Mental health often creates barriers to the ability to have healthy relationships, motivation to utilize healthy coping skills, and to find joy in daily life. I am currently licensed in Tennessee as a LCSW (#6086) and am a nationally certified TFCBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist) nationwide. I have experience in working with individuals, families and adolescents on a variety of life issues such as; depression, anxiety, mood, anger, family conflict, relationships, and trauma. I have training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), and Play Therapy. My treatment style is rooted in a client or family centered psycho-dynamic approach. I have provided services in outpatient, inpatient, school based, detention, and in-home settings.

I am a survivor of childhood trauma. Being a survivor has given me the belief that there is always hope and that nothing in life is final, but ever changing with possibilities. If you are seeking to go on a journey to heal, achieve mental health wellness, then you have to look no farther. You will find connection that is based in empathy. We all need someone to reach out to and who can say, "Me too".

Jamie is the absolute best therapist that I have ever had. She understands what I am going through and always gives the best advice. ❤️

I was so nervous going into therapy because I’m very shy and not great at talking and was worried no one would be able to really help me, but Jamie has made me feel comfortable from the very start! I’ve only had a couple sessions with her but she’s done a great job at getting to know me despite me not being very good at voicing my thoughts and feelings. She’s already given me great advice and help, and I’m looking forward to having more sessions with her!

Jamie was able to delve into my issues before I even realized what they were. She's been a long side me through really rough patches and has offered excellent advice. She calls me out when I need it and is understanding.

I am forever thankful I can work with Jamie. Healing complex trauma takes time, safe space, trust, understanding, genuine care. I have all this and after more than a year I made incredible steps. I am back in life, having more and more energy.
