Jamie Dimacchia, LMHC
About me
I am a licensed mental health therapist with the state of Florida with experience in working with children, teenagers and adults regarding many mental health concerns. I received my Bachelors of Arts from Kent State University with a major in psychology and a minor in conflict management, and proceeded to earn my Masters in Education through Cleveland State University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
I work with individuals regarding many mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, trauma and PTSD, and issues concerning grief or loss. I have worked for years with adults with concerns related to family relationships, parenting, and managing adjustments and transitions to new stages of life. I continue to build my knowledge and awareness of cultural, religious and spiritual factors that can influence the views and decisions of others, and work hard to understand and respect where my clients are coming from in address their individual needs.
I strive to be as open and empathetic as possible in my work, and believe that you as the client should have a say in the pace, frequency, and plans for your unique needs in the counseling process. Reaching out for help can be difficult, and I firmly believe that it is my job to support you as much as possible in your efforts to better improve your life. If you are ready to commit the time and energy to making the changes you want to see in your life, then I am here to support you.

Whatever you are paying Jamie isn’t enough…
She has such a broad knowledge base that, as bizarre or unique as I may think my issues are, she has ALWAYS been helpful!

Jamie is a gift to all of us who are hurting and needing support and compassion as well as wisdom and practical, useful advice. My problems were so deep-rooted and complicated that it would be easy to revert to my old ways of coping and seeking unhealthy patterns. But reviewing my interactions with Jamie is a powerful reminder of where I came from and how much progress I've made, and gives me the hope and courage to continue growing! Best therapist!

Jamie always makes me feel heard, which is paramount to me when it comes to mental health. She has a unique way of putting things into a rational perspective that I have trouble finding for myself. Even when my thoughts are so chaotic I might as well be typing gibberish, she’s able to get to the bottom of it and ask strategic questions that lead me to a resolution or at the very least increased clarity of a situation.

Have been working with Jamie for almost two years. She has helped me disentangle stressors I have felt throughout the year of 2020, which was tough in all areas of my life. Jamie listens pretty well and takes into account personality and past to decipher triggers and what is coming up. She helps to accept myself and how I’m feeling, while also providing coping mechanisms. I highly recommend working with her, it has been very enlightening and helpful.

I absolutely love Jamie being my counselor! She is so understanding and empathetic. Since she has been my counselor I tend to think more before I react. No counselor is a miracle worker, it’s not magic and it won’t work overnight and if anyone feels that way they’re not being realistic. However if you’re willing to be patient and put the time in it can be very helpful.
Jamie has helped me a lot over a period of time. More than anything she listens to me and acknowledges my feelings. I’ve noticed that it just feels good to have someone validate you and your hurt, above all this is most important, atleast to me anyway. In addition to that she’s very relatable, I don’t feel awkward or uncomfortable speaking with her. She doesn’t make me feel like she’s better than anyone else, if anything sometimes she’s more like a wonderful friend. A friend who actually listens and offers sound advice. There are things I’ve discussed with her that I wouldn’t tell to those who are the closest to me.
She also analyzes for me various topics that I’ve mentioned and gives me a different perspective on how to view it. Sometimes things happen to us and we have absolutely no clue how or why it happened, we can’t even rationalize it in any way. Jamie though? She will atleast try and offer potential reasons of why or how certain things have happened, this has provided me with closure in some areas of my life. I also love how accessible she is. Even if we aren’t having an actual appointment if I send her a message she may not respond immediately, but she responds promptly, much faster than I ever anticipated.
If you don’t wish to read this ridiculously long review that I have left..To sum it all up: she’s amazing.
