Jamie Wells, LPC
About me
Hello! My name is Jamie and I am a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the states of Louisiana and Texas. I have been working in the mental health field for 4 years. I have worked with individuals experiencing a variety of issues including addiction, trauma, autism and/or Aspergers, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, self-esteem, LGBTQIA, and borderline personality disorder. I have worked with clients aged 4 to 65.
In my third year as an elementary school teacher, I observed that my students needed more than just a capable teacher...several of them were demonstrating struggles with anxiety, thoughts of harm, and more. It is then when I decided to apply to my graduate program. I attended Louisiana Tech University, where I earned a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
I would describe myself as open-minded and relatable. I truly believe that we are all on different paths, but with communication and empathy, we can work together to help each other grow. I would love to help you grow in whatever area you may feel you need. In order to do so, I will utilize a thoughtful combination of Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
I look forward to working with you!

I absolutely love talking to Jamie. She's the first therapist I found on here to treats her job with as much meaning as in person therapy. She's very understanding and sweet. The only downside is that she's somewhat busy but I believe she tries her best to reach out when she can.

Jamie is amazing and listens to everything you need to say. She comes up with many different options for solving all issues in life and has no judgement when you speak. I highly recommend her.

Jamie has helped me to overcome a lot of my confidence issues and get a better understanding of myself and why I've been reserved most of my life. I'm to the point where I no longer require a weekly meeting with Jamie as I've been able to rely on myself more with figuring situations out and deciding what I want to do. I cannot thank her enough as I truly did not realize how confused / lost I was at the time.

My therapist has been absolutely wonderful. She is the first therapist I was matched with on here and I couldn't have asked for a better therapist!

Jamie is a great listener. She is calm throughout our sessions which really helps me in putting all my concerns into perspective. She validates my feelings and makes you feel human.

I have been a member of better help for 5 months and been through a number of counselors that either couldn't help and admitted it rt off the bat . Then I had a few that were of little to no help. Then I got matched with Jamie and in the few weeks I have been working with Jamie I have made more progress than in the past 4 plus months. Thank you Jamie . I wish I could have been matched with you from the beginning .
