Jamila Watson, LCSW
About me
My name is Jamila Watson and I've been working as a Social Worker for 9 years. I have experience working with diverse populations, including youth, pregnant and postpartum women, individuals experiencing homelessness, caregivers of children with disabilities, and most recently, supporting individuals with mental health issues in a community-based setting. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and I have additional training in grief and loss, motivational interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. However, my approach with each individual is as unique as the client themself. I believe that therapy is not a prescriptive, formulaic treatment, but a dynamic, collaborative partnership. I have a deep desire to see our world transformed into a place of love, healing, and acceptance. I believe that this vision can only be realized when individual people are able to foster these things within themselves. This is where my passion for serving other people originates from. I have a compassionate and non-judgemental approach in working with clients to achieve the goals that they have for themselves. I love to journey with people as they navigate the challenges of life and achieve personal healing and wellness.
