I am a graduate of Bryn Mawr College of Social Work and Social Research Masters Program. Since then, I have worked in adoption, with hospice, and with a variety of people with different problems in my private practice of 25 years.

I have worked with Jan for almost 2 years and it's been so good! She is such an active participant in my therapy. She is all about putting in the work to feel better. She listens when I want to just spill and pushes me to think and dive deep into how to feel better. Jan does not just sit on the sidelines but takes such an active role in keeping me accountable and pushing me to challenge my ways of thinking to find new ways to feel good about myself and my relationships. She has always been on top of it and I never feel like she wasn't listening or caring. It'll be so sad to say goodbye to Jan, but I've moved home and changed insurance. I have worked with Jan since May. I was unsure if "on-line counseling" could possibly work for me. My job requires me to be available with very little notice-making traditional counseling nearly impossible to schedule. I love the flexibility of writing anytime I need to talk. Jan is incredible, with how quickly she responds! I am amazed by how quickly Jan was able to be so tuned in with me. She STILL shocks me by knowing what I am thinking or feeling, even if I haven't said anything specifically to her. Jan asks the hard questions! She doesn't freely offer you the answers to what you are struggling with. She does however, guide you and gives you the tools you need to come to those answers on your own. She reminds me that I am not alone, and seems to always have something personal to relate to what I am feeling. I am extremely grateful for stumbling upon BetterHelp. I was very hesitant to sign up wondering if it was legit and if it would actually help. The advertising for this site really came at the right time when I needed it most. I didn't think it would help so I tried the free trial and it's been amazing. Jan is an amazing counselor. She doesn't sugar coat but is also sensitive and non judgmental. She will advise you on the best decision and doesn't just tell you what you want to hear. I have only been counseled by her for a few weeks but she really is great and what she does. Even in such a small time frame I am already getting better and making better choices. I have told all my friends about this site and it really does help.
