Jason Robershaw , LCPC
About me
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois with 12 years of experience. Currently, I serve as Clinical Director at a community mental health agency. Also, I facilitate a parenting group which is extremely rewarding. I am a Managing Adaptive Practices Certified Therapist, a Triple P Parenting Group Certified Instructor, a Teen Mental Health First Aid Certified Instructor, and Youth Mental Health First Aid Certified. My training and experience enables me to help clients with depression, stress and anxiety, 0-12 age parenting skills, and motivation and confidence. I am most knowledgeable and passionate about brain development, self-regulation, thought patterns, and quality parenting strategies. My training exposure is varied and my treatment philosophy is eclectic. However, I lean towards a strengths-oriented, solution-focused approach.
Although I do take my work seriously, I try not to take myself too seriously.
My hope is to have a genuine and positive impact in your life. I look forward to meeting you, listening to your story, and supporting you in your goals.

Jason has been an incredible listener and guide for me over the last year. I started off in an anxious and somewhat depressed state, and have come so far mentally in my journey, and Jason is a large part of the reason I am so much healthier. Jason continues to help me build a strong mental foundation, and add tools to my belt for any situation I now feel I can face head on.

Jason is one of a kind. He is gifted and truly helpful in many aspects in our therapeutic relationship. He listens carefully and empathizes with my feelings in regard to my life experiences. As our relationship progressed, Jason moved beyond empathy and into the realm of accountability and change expectations of me. He holds my feet to the fire, even though it is uncomfortable at times. I believe this truly sets him apart from many other counselors and why I feel justified, heard, and seen through my healing journey. I believe to be this way, he has to truly have a passion for his work, and it shows.

Jason is amazing. He understands my struggles, and he pushes me to achieve my goals breaking them down into smaller manageable tasks relating to my situation and giving me real life examples from experience.
