Jean McBride, LMFT
About me
Hello and thanks for your interest. I am a marriage and family therapist licensed in Colorado. I have been working with individuals, couples and families for 27 years. I consider my work one of the most important experiences of my life, and I feel honored to be invited so deeply into peoples’ lives. I believe in people and their ability to make changes. My counseling style is warm, intuitive and interactive, and I view our process together as a joint venture, with a focus on empowering my clients.
I have written three books: Encouraging Words for New Stepmothers, Talking to Children About Divorce, and most recently, Raising Resilient Children with a Borderline or Narcissistic Parent. For 25 years I authored a curriculum and taught court-ordered classes for divorcing parents in Colorado, with just over 25,000 parents in total attending.
If you are struggling with issues related to divorce, remarriage, parenting or simply getting by in this complicated and often-stressful experience called life, I want you to know that I am here for you and look forward offering help and support. Let me know how I can help.

Jean McBride is very knowledgeable about how to live your values when you are dealing with a narcissistic family structure and how to heal from it. This is very important because narcissism and personality issues are basically ignored in the education that therapists receive in order to graduate college. She is an expert in parenting through family conflict.

I feel lucky to have had the benefit of Jean's wisdom and insight. She is very good at taking the rambling threads of my thoughts and honing in on the key points and then gently offering prompts to take a closer look at them.

Jean has been very helpful to my self discovery. I am really thankful that I found her here. I discovered things about myself that I may have kept so deep down. We've uncovered a lot of my past which helped me face or even let go of those that is preventing me from moving on completely. I will definitely contact her again. Highly recommended!
