When you're tired or hurting and want to make some healthy changes, we need to talk. One of the comments I often hear from clients is "You make me think!" as they find new ways of dealing with their problems.
Hello, I'm Jeffrey. I'm a licensed therapist who's spent 40+ years helping people through their toughest challenges. My work has been in a variety of settings including in-patient hospitals, halfway houses, homeless shelters, school counseling offices, college classrooms, church counseling, foster care homes and outpatient clinics. Those experiences give me a broad and deep perspective on the struggles people go through.
In my own life, having grown up in a blended family, I am personally familiar with all the drama that brings. I have been married for over 35 years to the same woman and have three wonderful sons, who were homeschooled. We have also provided care for a parent with dementia. These experiences give me insights and understanding into the challenges families and individuals face.
I make extensive use of psychodynamic techniques and cognitive behavioral therapy approaches. From grief, guilt, difficulty coping and relationship issues, to recovering from infidelity and addiction- if you're looking for help with your struggles like these, I want to talk with you first!
I have always been passionate about helping people with the challenges they face in life. I want to see you succeed and improve your life. I've worked with clients across a wide range of concerns including low self-esteem, discouragement, relationship issues, codependency, recovering from infidelity and addiction but also career challenges or caregiving for elderly parents. There are times you may feel overwhelmed and unable to handle things on your terms - that's when it can be helpful to learn new ways of handling them! Reach out today if any of these topics resonate for you; there is hope available here at my practice now more than ever before!
I am committed to providing compassionate care tailored specifically around each individual's needs while working collaboratively as partners toward addressing their goals together. Whether it's addiction, enabling, communication, relationship, or depression-related issues, working together will help you through them.
I aim to provide a safe, supportive place where you can be yourself and work on your goals. I listen carefully to clients, take the time needed to understand their situation, and develop thoughtful ways of helping them address what they need in their lives. I believe that everyone has untapped strengths that can help them recover from difficulties or achieve the goals of their life.
I am also a Certified Mental Health & Nutrition Clinical Specialist (CMNCS) and Farm Response Certified.

Jeffrey Murrah has been very helpful along my path of recovery from childhood trauma. I would highly recommend Jeffrey Murrah for anyone dealing with a narcissistic parent.

Jeffrey Murrah has help me more in 3 sessions than my last couple of therapists have in a year and a half's time. I find it very beneficial that he periodically stops the conversation to address issues in real time, rather than waiting until the last few minutes of the session to provide generic feedback on everything I have said. The feedback is honest and meaningful. I love the "homework" and follow up advice that is provided.

Jeffrey (I call him Jeff) has extensive experience in counseling. I can tell from the ease he displays while considering what I've just handed him in a session. He's also compassionate in his understanding, so whatever comes to mind for me during a session elicits a helpful response. I've just learned he writes his own background materials, what we might call hand-outs. I feel we've developed a rapport and he's earned my trust even after just a few sessions.

I've enjoyed my time communicating with Jeffrey. He understands me, and yet he is non-compromising on issues that he identifies as harmful to me. He challenges me, which is a good thing, but he does it in an empathetic and caring way.

Written on Apr 08, 2023 after therapy with Jeffrey for 9 months on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, trauma and abuse, parenting issues, self esteem, and coping with life changes
I've been having weekly sessions with Jeff around around 8 or 9 months now, since around August or September of 2022. I've continued this long, because he has been a great help in me improving my life, especially when he provides a different and helpful awareness, insight, or realization that I'd not yet heard from any other therapists and coaches. This is why I continue to recommend Jeff 100% to any friends, colleagues, or acquaintances that would like to try online therapy.

Jeffery has a knack for breaking down complex problems and emotions into their essential building blocks, and in doing so helps you to recognize the blocks, and how to best deal with them.
I cannot recommend Jeffery enough for his patience, professionalism, kindness and expertise.

Jeff is exceptional. His approach to solving communication issues has been very helpful to my fiancé and I. He helps us frame the real issues in ways that gets us moving forward with understanding. We greatly appreciate our time with him.

As a relationship therapist, Jeffrey is VERY tuned into our marriage issues. He obviously has dealt with similar issues with other couples. We especially like his self Help attachments to his communications texts and his "lessons" to help in our follow up sessions. Dena and I strongly recommend Jeffrey Murrah to others in search for excellent counselling. Finally, I think Jeffrey's therapy rates are a great bargain! Ed Wheeler

Though we haven’t spoken for a long time. Jeff has acknowledged what I’m going through. It made me feel heard which motivates in getting the help I need

Jeffrey has become apart of my families weekly conversation, me and my wife talk about him as if he’s part of our extended family. This is because the therapeutic advice and mental exercises that he gives me are applied in my life daily. He keeps notes so well that midstream into our therapy sessions he will reference back to sessions over a month ago as if he and I just had our conversation. He is not gentle in his approaches which is what I wanted in a therapist. By this I mean he will not do as some therapists do and Waller in your pity party with you or let you feel sorry for yourself, he gets in the nitty gritty with you and wants to find out why you feel that way and how he can help you get out of that situation. I was in the deepest darkest part of my life emotionally when I “met” Jeffrey and he has helped drag me through many problems I’ve needed help with. I honestly look forward to his conversation every week and do not anticipate the day where I decide to stop therapy and have to say “Hasta Luego”. I appreciate all of the work Jeffrey has put forth in our conversation and hope that he has had the impact on others that he has had for me.
