Hi there! My name is Jen and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the beautiful state of Oregon with over 11 years of experience in working with adults and couples.
I believe that we all have the ability to create wholeheartedness within ourselves, but sometimes we just get stuck in old patterns of thoughts and behaviors that are no longer serving us. It can be difficult to get out of the habit of these patterns, which can leave us feeling frustrated, ashamed, hopeless, and so many of the other not-so-fun feels!
Therapy can be a helpful tool in dealing with, and eventually changing, these unwanted patterns. My theory of change is that it first begins with awareness. This awareness then leads to subtle shifts in our reactions, which help to form new patterns of thoughts and behaviors. I help clients create this lasting change in their lives by using an eclectic approach based on Mindfulness, The Daring Way™ (the work of Brene’ Brown), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Neurobiology, Relational Therapy, Attachment Theory, Nonviolent Communication, Hakomi, etc. My counseling style is relaxed and collaborative, and chock-full of empathy, curiosity, and humor!
I hold a Master of Arts Degree in Integral Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. The focus of my program was a blend of East and West theories of psychology, as well as an integrated approach to the four waves of psychology: Psychoanalytic, Behavioral, Humanistic, and Transpersonal. I’m also a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator and it is the foundation of my work as a whole. #BreneBrownFTW
So, if you’re wanting to cultivate more self-compassion, build more shame resilience, change your ways of thinking, and finally have true agency over your life, I can help you with that!
BONUS: if you also want to nerd out on psychology and laugh a lot, I’m definitely your girl!

I appreciate Jen so much. Not only is she compassionate and gentle in her replies, she is also hilarious! I look forward to her messages; it's amazing how much she understands about me. She's also made me think about things in a new way--which I desperately needed. I was very skeptical about therapy at first, but I feel lucky to have been matched with Jen. She made me feel so comfortable with the whole process.

Jennifer is true to her name, Jennifer “Kind.” She is thoughtful and supportive. Offers insight and validation. She has helped me feel confident in my choices and feelings. She allows me to talk through my fears and helps me move forward so I can come to a better place. What I love is often she makes me laugh and I do not feel exhausted, but a big sense of relief. She makes sure I’m always thinking about self care which keeps me on track!

Jennifer Kind is like having a close girlfriend who you’d want to drink wine and do crafts with...but also tell all your problems and secrets, too. She’s so down to earth, yet professional. I feel very confident that she cares about me as a client and is capable of offering practical solutions and guides to help me.

Jen is extremely calm and easy to talk to! She's really good at knowing when to let me ramble a bit and when to offer some insight or suggestions. She helps me with specifics and notices patterns that I sure didn't. She's also upfront and easy to work with - you know her schedule, how often she'll answer, etc. I'd highly recommend!
