As a mental health counselor and gender specialist, my commitments are to be your advocate, supporter, teacher, and encourager. Together, we will create a safe and trusting therapeutic environment where you feel comfortable to work. It is a truth of mine that we are all in our own struggles; if only we could be there together in those struggles, we may be able to truly find our strengths more easily.
My therapy style is interactive, inviting and a space I commit to always feeling honest and authentic (I love a good sense of humor along the way). I focus on supporting the individual, as each is unique and may present an array of concerns. An individual will be able to enter into a therapeutic environment that is safe, free from judgment, and supportive. I strive to supply a space for each client that is empowering and motivating. I primarily work from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Positive Psychology. I specialize in working with adolescents, teens, adults, and LGBTQ-affirmative and Transgender transitioning.
I have specific experience within trauma-focused, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, relationships, family issues and child behavior concerns. I enjoy working with clients on issues of self-esteem building, anxiety reduction, coping skills, and relationship skills-building. Knowing your authentic self is a true journey of discovery and self-love. This is a true guide for all of my clinical work. I have collected my clinical experience from settings of private practice, university counseling and grade schools.
I am an avid reader (kind of a history and sci-fi dork...) and have two fantastically wild and amazing kiddos. In my spare time, you can always catch me hosting impromptu dance parties in the kitchen.
I am currently a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (NC) and National Board Certified Counselor. I typically schedule Live Sessions week-to-week, including offering some evening and weekend slots. I will be happy to work out a consistent time for you once we get started.

Jen has been there for me through the hardest days of my life. I don't think I would have made it through this past year without her support. She is calming, understanding, and offers perspective when needed. She listens to you and understands your needs. I am lucky that this has been my experience, and hope everyone is able to work with someone as lovely as Jen.

Jennifer is awesome, there was time when I thought I lost everything, that life wasn't worth living anymore.
I was so wrong , and life has really just started for me.
I was really never happy , but now my life is alot happier.
Transgender dysphoria is a killer and if it is not addressed you will never live the life u were meant to have.
Yes ,you'll lose many, but gain more in time.
These people u gain will be true friends.

Jennifer is a joy to work with - flexible, kind, caring, and compassionate. She's motivating, and always helps to reframe and affirm. I have so enjoyed working with her in these few weeks and I'm sure that I will continue to learn more from her in my mental health journey. My favorite thing about Jennifer is that she's so down-to-earth. I never feel judged, or like I'm talking to a Capital C Counselor. I feel like I'm talking to a kind, empathetic human who truly understands and is trying to help.
