Jennifer Taylor, LCSW
About me
I am a licensed clinical social worker in both Texas and Kentucky with over 20 years of experience in psychotherapy and human services. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including trauma, anxiety, depression, behavioral disorders, adjustment disorders, substance abuse & addiction, crisis management, and religious or spiritual crises. I have also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse and worked with LGBTQIA+ populations.
My counseling style is casual and collaborative because everyone needs to feel comfortable and you are essential to your own healing. My approach combines Humanistic and Psychodynamic counseling within the frame work of Adaptive Information Processing theory. I draw from a plethora of modalities and treatment perspectives and utilize them primarily using EMDR psychotherapy. Everyone has a unique form of achieving greater mental health and I serve as a guide to discover yours.
I applaud you for seeking a more fulfilling life for yourself. What it requires for people to take this step is not lost on me. I am here to support you in your growth.

Jennifer is not only deeply skilled as a therapist in a variety of modalities but is also extremely kind and empathetic. I can’t say enough about her talent and the ability she has to help keep me on track and focused on what I want to achieve. She’s amazing and I am so grateful to have her along for this journey of mine!

Well it's been two years now since I first started therapy and was paired with Dr Jennifer. I cannot express enough how wonderful this experience has been for me. Even though I was the "co-creator" of this journey, as she would say, I give SO much credit to her for being able to create a space where I was comfortable and safe enough to share, and for the way that she is consistently able to create a meaningful connection each week. That cannot be easy to do, and yet she does it.

Although I know Jennifer has many other clients, I feel that she truly cares about me and wants to listen/help. She is fantastic at giving individual care that is structured around the client’s concerns.

Jennifer is responsive, kind, and supportive. She remembers details about myself and is great at understanding what I want to work through. Her past experiences as a therapist help her zero in on the necessary moments of conversation and understanding to help me progress on my goals. I would recommend her to any friend in a heartbeat.

Fantastic and empathetic counsellor who has worked with me to open and reflect on many interesting elements of my past. Flexible, accommodating and leads with clients best interests. Thank you.

Jennifer is great, both at listening and at sharing thoughts that could be helpful. She also asks great questions that often lead our conversations in the right direction, so that it can be helpful to figure out where an internalized belief is coming from and how to process it. She also has methods to help process experiences and feelings, even without having to talk about it a lot, which have been very helpful for me. Can definitely recommend!
