About me

Hello ~ I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist in the state of Missouri, and have been providing therapeutic services for 5 years now. I have earned both a bachelor degree in elementary education and a masters degree in counseling through the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Having worked with children for over 19 years now, I specialize in supporting educators and parents with child related concerns in the area of social and emotional development. Through earning my degrees I gained a solid foundation of knowledge, my career experience working in education has provided countless opportunities for growth with each new experience, and raising my own seven sons (yes, all boys) has kept me quite humble. :) I have been reminded time and time again that we cannot predict life's outcomes thus causing life to feel frustrating, overwhelming, and even unsafe at times. I work with clients experiencing a wide range of emotions including anxiety, stress, and mild-depression due to relationship challenges, parenting issues, sudden life changes, or feeling at a low-point in one's own self-worth. My approach is person-centered placing a high regard on the therapeutic alliance built between myself and the client. I also use cognitive behavioral and solution based approaches when appropriate. Developing a treatment plan tailored to a client's unique needs and personal goals is an early step in the road to healing. As you are searching for the right counselor for you, it is my hope you feel a sense of pride in that you are already caring enough about your mental health to seek out support. I wish you well on your journey, and, of course, would be happy to hear from you!

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Jennifer Walsh. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I very much appreciated Jennifer's advice and listening skills. The fact that Jennifer was in a similar situation as I, brought a very much needed perspective and understanding to our discussions. Jennifer's sense of humor contributed to the sense of ease and made for some frank and needed conversations. It allowed to put up with my sense of humor. If it were not for our schedules, I would continue our sessions. In short: I enjoyed our time together and it was very productive. I will miss our sessions.
