About me

Life is full of seasons, some more difficult than others.
Hi I'm Jessica, a licensed clinical mental health counselor in North Carolina and for the past 10 years I've been supporting clients as they navigate some of life's more challenging seasons. I'm passionate about helping client's access their inner strengths and achieve their goals.

I believe everyone has the inner strengths needed to live their best life. It can be hard to recognize those strengths through the fog our stress response triggers. Having someone outside of your inner circle to listen, help you clear your head and build better coping skills can be so helpful.

Therapy is a process in which you will clarify how you feel, what you need and want, and how to get more satisfaction from your life. Counseling approaches I use vary according to your personal goals. But, the foundation of my therapeutic style is person centered, a non-authoritative approach that allows clients to take more of a lead in discussions so that, in the process, they will discover their own solutions. I believe each counseling experience should be unique and one of a kind, tailored to the person I am with in that moment. I hope you will feel that belief in our work together.

My schedule varies throughout the year, so I prefer to work with clients directly to schedule appointments that fit their need. Please feel free to message me to inquire about my current session time availability.

I have worked with a few therapists before but I didn't click with them on the first session as much as I did with Mrs. Owen. I am so looking forward to working with her. I know she will help me on my healing journey.

Jessica has been a wonderful addition to my "inner circle". Jessica is very empathetic, supportive, and understanding, while at the same time realistic. Through her guidance and support I'm learning that I am not the only one with challenges, and she had given me the tools to begin making changes for the better. Jessica is always quick to respond to any messages and take the time to help me reflect on my worksheet responses. I feel 100% comfortable leaning on Jessica when I need to knowing that she will be there with support.

There's so many great things that I can say about Jessica. She's very warm and welcoming and I always look forward to talking with her every week. I feel like she listens and offers resources in a way that really helps me to process what we've talked about and helps me to put them into practice. She is absolutely what I was looking for in a therapist.
