My name is Jessica Slash, and I am a licensed clinical social worker. I have spent most of my adult life working in human services, resulting in over 20 years of experience working with people from all walks of life, each with unique stories and experiences.
My therapeutic approach prioritizes safety and acceptance, so we can cultivate a non-judgmental space for you to think about how to live your best life—walking alongside you as you develop the insights and skills that help you uncover and move through any internal challenges that might become barriers to you achieving the life and relationships you desire.
My work as a therapist is deeply rooted in evidence-based science around trauma, attachment, and adaptive and affective neurology. Using this science as a foundation, together, we will tailor your treatment to your goals and individual needs. The work we do will be deeply rooted in the neurobiological realities of what it means to be human and the impact our life experiences have on our emotional, psychological, biological, and neurological well-being.
Our work together may include processing and learning how to heal from past traumas, coping with and understanding anxiety or depression, working through adult attachment challenges, or simply supporting you as you move through life's challenges. No matter your goal, I sincerely believe in your ability to overcome challenges and move forward to live the life you desire and deserve.
Should you choose this path with me, I look forward to working with you and hope to be of service to you soon.

Jessica is amazing! I've never done therapy until recently but every week I seem to learn something new with her. She has a style that fits me perfectly. Very easy to talk to. I don't think I could see another therapist after her. She is very intuitive. I learned more about myself in one hour than I have in 38 years the first session. Amazing person and even better therapist! RESPECT

Jessica is phenomenal. When we have our sessions, I often tap into this flow of vulnerability that feels so healing in conversation. She truly sees me and knows what to say to help me reframe my mindset or allow me to more gently release some of the trauma I've stored away for years. Jessica has been the best guide through my self-healing journey these past few years, and I am so grateful for her work and her words. Thank you.

I absolutely LOVE working with Jessica. She is AMAZING. I have felt like I was just talking with an old friend from our first session. I am 42 years old and have been in therapy since I was 13 years old and this is the VERY FIRST TIME that I have felt comfortable, relaxed, heard, understood, felt for, empathized with, open to, and like I am TRULY learning about myself and exploring the mystery of me with a patient, wise, non-judgemental, and humble guide who only has my growth and holistic evolution at heart. I LOVE Jessica's Neuroscientific approach. I would much rather figure out how to live, learn, laugh, and love this way than sit session after session and recount every, single trauma at nauseum. Thank you so much Jessica for being you and letting me be me. ❤️

I've been working with Jessica for almost a year and it's still the best thing I did in my life. Even when I've never imagined working with a counselor for so long when I started, we are still here. I've moved so much in my life since we started and have still a long way to go. I can feel progress very often. It's like a close friend who is always there to listen, without judgment. I've never been so honest to anyone, like when I am talking with Jessica. I can share anything that comes to my mind.

She's is very available, a great listener, she uses just the right method that works for me. I've never felt so understood and safe, and I feel like it's helping me progress so much. It doesn't feel like there is a wall (or screen) between us. She's so friendly and respectful, non-judgmental, it feels like we are on the same level. I'm still amazed at how she can put the right words on what I'm feeling when I've been struggling for so long to find these words. Thank you!

I knew I needed to seek professional help to process the fallout from a workplace situation, but traveling for a year with my young family meant going to a physical counselor's office wasn't a viable option. I was skeptical about how this was going to work but I have to say that in a few short weeks, I've been really impressed by Jessica as a counselor. She's highly intelligent, articulate and has been able to drill down to the heart of my issue and enabled me to process my thoughts and new perspectives authentically and with compassion. I'm the kind of person who needs to understand the psychological process of what is happening and Jessica has been able to provide me with enough theoretical framework so that I can understand how and why I am feeling the way I am. I honestly didn't think it was possible to develop an authentic, trusting connection with an online counselor, but BetterHelp's platform has proven me wrong. I have no hesitation in recommending Jessica as a counselor.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Jessica and her counseling. It's only been about five weeks, but during that time, I am making so many radical changes in my life as we move myself to a healthier place of a balanced, mindful life. As we work through the difficulties I experienced in my childhood and work on completely reframing them, I feel like my life is forever changed. Her counseling is kind, genuine and gets right to the heart of the issues. Jessica is cool. She's like that character in movies that you meet at a like a park and you don't know them but they're nice and they listen to you and ask about your life and just help talk you through things. Real relaxed therapy with her.
She responds late at night and I'm an early sleeper so we chat like once a day (her response at night mine in the morning) but I'm okay with that. She still helps me out a lot.

I have rarely connected with a therapist the way I connect with Jessica. She's not only a wonderful listener, but her insight is always spot on. She's a guide, but never pushes her agenda, and she has allowed me to come to conclusions that would have otherwise taken me years, or have never happened at all. I spent months talking to other counselors, psychologist, psychiatrist... and I never accomplished with them even a portion of what I have with Jessica in only a few exchanges. I am eternally grateful to her.

Jessica has been a great confidante. When you don't have many people in your life to turn to about a difficult situation, it's been so nice to have her break down the situation from an unbiased point of view and support what ever emotions I'm feeling. I don't think I could be at peace through this situation without her support!

Written on Oct 26, 2016 after therapy with Jessica for 3 weeks on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, relationship, trauma and abuse, self esteem, and anger
Jessica honestly helped me through so much and still continues to do so. No matter how crazy or low I feel she always takes everything I say and puts in into a perspective that makes sense to me. It's little things like that that really make a difference. I've been to other therapists and I've felt that their personal lives (religion, sexual orientation, etc) have somehow seeped into their advice but I never felt judged and I felt so comfortable expressing my issues with her. Ive had nothing but a positive experience! Thank you Jessica!

Jessica's an amazing person -- one of if not the best people I've ever met in my life. She's critical and analytical and at the same time patient, giving answers that you want to know and knowing the best approach to a person's woes and virtues. Above all else, it's been an extremely enjoyable experience interacting with her, and I'm very grateful to have been given the opportunity to meet her.
