Jill Brown, LCSW
About me
I am a licensed clinical social worker in New York State whose counseling services have centered around helping individuals, couples and family members alleviate depression, anxiety, and relationship challenges. I have worked with people of all ages, with a special focus on adults and older adults. Other practice concentrations have included Grief Counseling, Life Changes, Self Esteem, Confidence Building and Autism Spectrum Disorders. I have worked with clients with ADHD, OCD, Adjustment Disorders, and Agoraphobia.
My approach is flexible and supports clients in defining their own goals. I believe in providing a caring, compassionate, and warm approach to discussions, centered around client needs. I am well versed in several therapeutic techniques that utilize concepts from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Focus, and Strength's Perspective Therapy. My treatment approach is defined by a client's identified needs and goals and remains open and nonjudgmental throughout the alliance.
Reaching out for support when you are going through a difficult time takes strength and determination. Your courage should be met with respect and great caring.
I look forward to working with you!

I hate writing reviews but I just feel like I must write one here. I went through a really crappy breakup back in March, to the point where I couldn’t contain my emotions. I was very lucky to have come across Jill and honestly for the past 8 months she’s been the exact friend that I needed. I’ve discussed with her what helps me and what I’m looking for from her, and everything since it’s been great. I’m a person who needs to be able to get my feelings off my chest and someone who’s not biast (unlike some friends could be). She’s been there whenever I needed someone to listen and had always found a time to fit me in for a last minute video session. She gives me the space I need but also checks in on me here and there as she knows when I go through it I like to go MIA. We’ve set boundaries and it’s honestly been amazing. Enough space and I don’t feel pressured for anything. I open up on my own time with ease. It’s been a super great experience with Jill and I can’t believe it’s already been 8/9 months since I’ve joined and found her! Also just to point out- I am a 27 year old female who is a part of LGBT. Jill has been super comforting and understanding as well when it came to my crazy lesbian drama issues lol. Over all a great person, therapist and friend. Very patient and easy to speak to. Definitely choose her!
