About me

Hello and welcome to my profile here at Betterhelp.
I can appreciate how it feels to reach out to begin talking to another person about really important matters and concerns and I just want to reassure you that I am here to listen and help.

I have experience working for the NHS Mental Health Services and in 2009 I decided that I wanted to work in a therapeutic way that embraced the new ideas and concepts of working with others experiencing life situations which have effected areas of their own mental health.

As an Integral Therapist I am able to use different therapeutic tools and approaches to find the client a more "tailored fit" form of therapy. I am genuinely interested in the issues that people bring to the therapy room and I do realise that it is a privilege to be able to share in a persons inner world. It is a courageous decision to come to therapy and I am mindful of this when in session with a client.

My therapy style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioural, humanistic, psychodynamic therapy. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

Over the last two years I have started to use online technology available to continue to provide my clients with a more inclusive method of therapy. I have found this delivery new and really worthwhile for my clients and I am now confident in email, telephone and video counselling and have worked on various platforms to provide both short and long term counselling in an effective manner.
I do hope you feel able to reach out and make contact so we can work together to explore any thoughts or concerns you may be having. I look forward to hearing from you.

Joanna is a great listener, open minded and easy to talk with. I have done only few sessions yet, every time I felt understood and conversation flows easily.

She makes me reflect and offers options in facing my issues. She also checks in regularly which gives me the confidence I need that when something goes wrong, I do have her ear

Jo is a kind, respectful and thoughtful person. She is helpful working through problems and thinking about solutions. She has really helped me look forward to speaking about issues and being accepted for the things going on inside of me.

I was apprehensive with online therapy but Jo has made the online experience really comfortable and still effective . It’s now my preferred form of therapy and will continue online therapy in the future. Jo is fantastic! She’s a great listener and challenges my perspective which is what i need in my current situation. Highly recommend her services!
