Joel Britton, LMFT
About me
I am a U.S. Military Veteran with 25+ years of proven expertise and a robust background in confidential counseling garnered from a distinguished career in the Army. As a Chaplain and Texas Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I developed a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding individual, marriage, family, and group dynamics in psychotherapy. I provide faith-informed Christian counseling by utilizing evidence-based therapy. I am a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. I also have many hours of experience working and helping people who claim no faith. I specialize in marriage counseling, crisis intervention, trauma & PTSD, stress management, spiritual core development, resilience coaching and military/veteran issues. I utilize the Gottman Method for Couples, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Dr. Snyder’s Getting Past the Affair Model in counseling. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. It takes courage to seek help, and I am here to hold the rope of hope for you and support you in your journey.
