Joey Ratcliff, LPC
About me
I have been an outpatient mental health practioner since 1998. I have mainly worked with adults with dual diagnosis and mostly in individual sessions. I am a white male, but I am very liberal and multicultural. I am married to an Asian American and live in Southeast Texas with a mainly Hispanic/Mexican American population. I also have several neighbors in the military.
I have treated patients on an outpatient basis in clinics for depression, schizophrenia, anxiety, and also with a dual diagnosis involving an addiction. I have several methods for managing stress, anxiety, and anger. I also can do diagnostic impressions via psychosocial assessments and treatment plans. I began my practice in Louisiana in 1998 and I have been practicing in Texas since 2012. I began my practice after earning my degree in counselor education and receiving my LPC. I also hold degrees in psychology at the bachelors and masters level and in social work at the masters level.
I speak and understand American English. My LPC Texas license number is 65372 and is currently active. And in June 2021, I passed my ASWB licensing exam in social work. I applied and should get my LMSW certificate in the mail by end of August 2021.

Joey is so easy to talk to, I forget that I’m in “therapy” most times, unless I break down, That’s when he really gives good advice and his “professional “side shows up. After each and every session, I certainly feel I’ve made progress and feel better.
Thanks Joey!

Joey is very thoughtful in his approach to therapy. He’s a great listener and is methodical in his approach. He develops a plan to fit your needs and helps you follow through with it. Joey took the time to listen and be empathetic.
