All of us, at some point, encounter a problem that seems insurmountable. For more than 25 years, I have helped a variety of people from all walks of life find solutions to issues at home, at work, in the military, at school, in their relationships or within themselves. I have in-depth knowledge of people in law careers, having worked 8 years in law firms. In addition, I was a partner is a counseling practice called Homefront LLC that counseled service members, their families, first responders and trauma survivors.
My work here with Betterhelp has involved both US and International clients. While we all share the same humanity, cultural context is also important in understanding a person's unique way of experiencing the world.
Some people have suffered loss or trauma from their famliy of origin or the result of civil or political unrest. Others are struggling with family problems or workplace dissatisfaction. Many are feeling lost, confused or frustrated. Frequently, people are in a transition and need support while a new direction is created.
Counseling can assist with these challenges and lead to a life that is rewarding and enjoyable.
I have a MS degree in psychology and a certification for Military/Veteran Behavioral Health from the DOD. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Delaware in the US and am a Nationally Certified Counselor.
My style of counseling involves working together in a safe and supportive space at a pace set by the client. We will identify strengths and understand challenges. We will look at behaviors that are beneficial and those that are limiting. We will design new approaches, practice new skills and assess the outcomes. Together we will craft a new direction that leads to happiness, self acceptance and achievement.

I adore Joyce, She is incredibly intelligent and reads me very well. She’s helped me (and continues to help me,) with childhood trauma, fertility issues and adhd.

Joyce Keene is a great therapist. I feel very comfortable opening up to her and I never feel pressure from her, but I can progress with things in my own pace. I have been feeling bad for a long time without really being able to understand what makes me so anxious all the time, but Joyce is able to read me and ask questions that help me to understand the situation and suggests actions I can try to make it better.

Joyce is of huge importance to me. I know she is there to support me with her expertise while I work through some tricky stuff. She has educated me and collaborated with me. I am in the UK and I have never stuck with counselling. I have found counsellors to be aloof, condescending , and the process of counselling like some game where I am not privy to their process, while they sit as an assumed expert not being transparent or collaborative.
