About me

Psychotherapy offers an opportunity to build strength and endurance to face the inevitable challenges and influences in order to move forward with autonomy, confidence, and personal liberation.I will nurture an environment and container of trust and support as you build the relationship and deepen your understanding and sense of self. I believe all people have the innate capacity for understanding the direction their own lives should take; I will join you as you explore and examine the potential blocks standing in the way of living a fuller and more meaningful, authentic life.

I have a passion for working with people who may be struggling with their identity, who do not fit the beliefs and expectations held by their family of origin, mainstream culture, and/or the many systems within our society that are inherently designed to oppress and marginalize people who do not conform to these historical and societal restrictions. Many times, the experience of being seen and understood fully by another human being is the core of healing. I offer psychotherapy that fosters curiosity and wonder for each person’s individuality. Other times, it is helpful to sensitively work through past trauma and attachment patterns. Because my counseling approach is existential and humanistic, therapeutic care is tailored to the specific needs of each person. I am well-versed in a variety of psychological tools from diverse therapies, and I use what is best for each client to meet their goals for therapy.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Julia (Larson) Pham. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I have had much more effective therapy sessions since moving from traditional office visits to BetterHelp. The simplicity and consistency of this platform have removed unnecessary physical and mental obstacles surrounding therapy (i.e. travel, parking, unplanned social interactions, etc.) and allowed me to focus on the content of my sessions. I have recommended BetterHelp to others in my community of chronically ill persons; others who, like me, have missed necessary sessions due to unnecessary, strenuous hurtles.

Julia has had a profound impact on the quality of my life. Though my physical pain has and will inevitably continue to increase, I now understand that my worth does not diminish just because my physical capabilities may change or decrease. Julia is both an empathetic listener and a curious thinker, who listens without judgement, asks questions to further understand, offers an array of exercises/ techniques to try, and gently challenges my self-sabotaging thoughts (which taught me how to challenge them on my own). I have and will continue to sing her praises!

I’ve seen numerous psychologists and therapists and to this day have never had someone make as much of a difference in my mental health and personal growth as Julia. She is patient, listens to me, and truly let’s me drive the sessions to their end destination by helping me process my emotions and drawing the conclusion myself.

Truly, I am so thankful for everything she has done for me and her time. She has been flexible with her schedule and allowed me to commit myself to our sessions by doing so. She is great and I would recommend her to anyone.

Julia has been wonderful. She listens and is very encouraging. I always feel a bit better after a session with her, even if we talk about difficult stuff.
