Julia (aka Julie) Thompson (pronouns are they/them/their) is a licensed professional counselor in the State of Maryland with a master's degree from Loyola University of Maryland, and a Bachelor's degree from University of Maryland in Psychology. They have 8 years of professional work experience with strengths in substance use disorders, stress and anxiety, depression, lgbtq+ related issues, & coping with grief and loss.

Julie strives to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Julie has experience in mindfulness interventions, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialecttical Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and Motiviational Interviewing that allows the Client feel supported and open to the process of improving mental health. Julie's downtime and selfcare routines has them enjoying reading, gaming, home improvement projects, gardening, creating stained glass art and other crafts. They also enjoy creating costumes and headpieces particularly for historical and cultural dress. Julie has had dogs in the past and now only has feline companions.
