Julie Johnson, LICSW
About me
I am licensed clinical therapist for the state of Minnesota. I have 24 years of working as a therapist and continue to be inspired by the resiliency I see in people. I have experience in working with stress and anxiety, relationship issues, coping with grief and loss, depression, and many other areas of life and mental health issues. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. For those who are interested, I am happy to incorporate the person's faith beliefs into therapy as I have worked primarily for Christian based clinics over my career. My main goal is to help others' discover their individual strengths because everyone has them.

Through the two sessions I've had with Julie she has done very well with listening to what I'm going through and providing helpful feedback to help me cope with my situation. She does more than just side with me about my problems, she's willing to point out what I've either done wrong or could've done better. Looking forward to more sessions with her.

My therapist has been beneficial in helping me work through my grief of my wife’s passing and providing help with my communication issues with my daughter.

Julie has helped me find ways to improve my distress tolerance skills, is a great listener (without judgment), and encourages me to take steps that are best for my personal improvement and goals. She has been a reliable and considerate therapist, with a calm demeanor and a caring heart. She specifically has helped me work on anxiety management techniques and encouraged me to learn and set healthy boundaries in multiple areas of life. I would highly recommend Julie!

Julie has been easy to speak to about sensitive subjects. It is difficult for me to be vulnerable, and Julie sets a tone on our calls that allows some of those defenses to be lowered. I’m grateful.
