Karen Garraputa, LCMHC
About me
I am licensed in North Carolina with more than 25 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress, anxiety, lgbtq+ related issues, trauma, abuse, & depression. I also have experience working with coping with life changes. I believe that a million decisions led to this moment, some useful and some not, and you get to figure out what the next moment will be like. The figuring out parts can be like driving at night in a fog - it can be daunting to only see as far as your headlights, and it's okay to make the whole trip that way. I am honored to listen to your story and ride shotgun on the road to overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step to making a life you want to lead takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.
How I work with people: I use cognitive behavioral and mindfulness approaches to help people link their thoughts, actions and emotions to make shifts that are more useful in daily life.
