Karen Roach, LCSW
About me
Hi there! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Illinois with over 20 years experience working with kids, adults, and families. My passion is helping you resolve stress and anxiety that impacts your day to day life. I especially love supporting women, moms and educators to better understand the behaviors and emotions of kids that causes disruption to the family or school environment.
My therapeutic approach is understanding, non-judgmental and collaborative. I lean into my expertise of the stress response system and use a variety of modalities to help balance the stress response while also building a client's toolbox of strategies.
Other professional work includes school social work and teaching graduate level students in a Master of Social Work program.
As a full-time school social worker, my general availability for phone and video sessions will be early mornings and mid to late afternoons during the typical school year. Messaging is also convenient and accessible throughout each day!
I'm excited to get to know you and support you on your journey!

Karen was extremely helpful in what has been the most difficult time of my life. She helped me navigate the pain and heartache of a breakup while assisiting in my growth as a person. I honestly don't think I'd be where I am today without her.

3 weeks, and my sessions with Karen have been great. She is very understanding, and I think she is amazing at what she does. Her professionalism naturally shines, and she is great at picking up my thoughts and feelings due to what I humbly believe to be her keen empathy and wisdom. These make her great at establishing trust. For the first time in a long time, I feel there are improvements in my emotions, and I would highly recommend her to anyone. I’m looking forward to the progress I will make working with her. I am happy with my decision to enroll for Betterhelp and got the right therapist for me.

Karen has been an absolute blessing. She truly listens to me and CARES how I’m doing and feeling. She is extremely knowledgeable and tries to offer various ways of looking at situations that I had never thought of. She listens to me & always makes me feel heard. I truly don’t ever want to work with another therapist again! I am so thankful for Karen.

Karen is the best therapist I've ever worked with. Karen has taught me to be kinder to myself, which has always been a struggle.
