Karen Waite, BACP
About me
I am credentialed in the UK, subject to English and Welsh Law with the Exclusive Jurisdiction of the Courts of the United Kingdom. I have 6 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, relationship issues, trauma and abuse, & motivation, self esteem, and confidence. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.
I am a qualified BACP registered Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I offer Humanistic, psychodynamic, creative and cognitive behavioural therapy. We are all diverse human beings and completely individual in our needs and our preferences therefor each session is led by the individual needs of my clients. Talking about our feelings and emotions can be hard and taking the first steps in to therapy is possibly the hardest part of the journey.
I have worked within Domestic Abuse and Trauma Recovery Support since 2003 and understand how the effects of Trauma/Abuse can feel permanent and dis-empowering. I offer a safe and ethical way of working therapeutically through your experiences, helping you to discover an understanding of your own inner strengths and "Find a voice..."
I believe the therapeutic alliance between client and counsellor is a powerful tool and offer to walk with you at your own pace, on your own journey. Whether you are returning to therapy or coming for the first time, I welcome you into a safe space.

I have found working with Karen really beneficial, she’s a great listener and always on the mark to unlocking and understanding what’s really going on with her clients. I found her manner to be very personable and collaborative and I enjoyed my sessions with her. I wouldn’t hesitate to work with her again in the future.

Karen is the kindest, most respectful and incredibly helpful therapist I have ever worked with. She takes time to listen to you, tries to see your point of view and goes the extra mile to try to help you moving forward, together. I feel very grateful to have met Karen and would highly recommend.
