Kari Bendt, LMSW
About me
I am a fully licensed social worker in the state of Michigan. I have been providing therapy services for 6 years. Most of my therapy experience has been with children/adolescents ages 4-18, and young adults ages 19-21. I have worked with children/adolescents/young adults on a wide range of concerns including, but not limited to depression, anxiety, ADHD, attachment issues, and trauma. I have provided therapy services in a variety of settings from inpatient hospitals to non-profits. I also have some experience working with the LGBTQ+ community and providing counseling to survivors of domestic violence.
My counseling style is client centered, warm, and interactive. I believe clients are the experts in their own lives and it is my job to assist clients with achieving their goals. I treat each client with respect, dignity, compassion, and sensitivity. My therapy approaches include Cognitive-Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, and Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral therapy. I tailor each treatment plan to meet the client’s unique and specific needs with full client participation in the creation of goals and objectives.
It takes courage and strength to reach out and ask for help. I am here to empower and support you as you take the first step towards change.
I am looking forward to working with you!
