About me
Hello, I am an LMFT who works to create a safe and validating space for clients to express the struggles they are enduring. I am interested in working in a strengths-based way guiding clients to find the answers they need to heal and move forward. I work to be personable and also offer DBT and CBT skills in hopes of creating strong basis for coping as we explore the issue at hand as well as patterns that know longer serve the client. With these resources, I work with those who are experiencing stress at work or in their relationships, are recovering from childhood or more recent trauma and I love to support those who feel like the odd one out.
I am happy to work with clients from alternative communities or highly creative persons making their way through this world to the the beat of their own drum. Offering respectful acceptance and focus on the work at hand and allowing for the spirit that makes us each a little different and the world a little more colorful.

Katherine was great when she was there. But that was the problem. She was never there. She constantly changed and cancelled sessions, something that is very difficult for someone struggling with mental crisises. She then dropped clients all together because she was too busy without giving any warning. Super disheartening when trying to build a relationship and trust with a counselor.

Kate is a wonderful therapist. I feel so fortunate to have found her because she is a perfect fit for me. I have made a lot of progress through my trauma and have begun feeling my emotions in a healthier way. She balances being supportive and listening in a feeling non judgmental and validating way, with concrete actions and DBT based skills such that I can both begin accepting my feelings and then knowing what to do when I feel overwhelmed.

Kate is very empathetic while also offering practical and effective solutions. She really listens to and values what you have to say. Additionally, she’s very good at working with and understanding queer and transgender issues, which is a skill that isn’t always easy to find in therapists. Overall, I have had a great experience working with Kate and highly recommend working with her!
