About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health CounseIor (recently updated from LPC) with over 30 years of experience. I have worked in community mental health, outpatient, boarding school, inpatient, volunteer, and primary care settings. I have experience helping clients who have had various concerns including LGBTQIA issues, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, relationship issues, health concerns, and life change adjustments. Some of my clients have needed medication to help with diagnosed mental illnesses like bipolar disorder and depression. I have 16 years of experience working with adolescents from 12 to 19.

My counseling approach is warm and interactive. I believe in treating all people with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, interpersonal, and dialectical behavior therapy. Our work together will be focused on your goals and your specific needs.

It isn’t always easy to ask for the help you need to take the first steps to make a change. You have already shown the courage to consider getting help. Take the next step to choose to work with me. I believe you will be very pleased with your outcomes. I’m looking forward to helping you to have the life you are seeking!

With all good thoughts for you,
Katherine Pinyan
