Katrice Rankin Ward, LCMHC
About me
Life can often be a challenge no matter who we are or where we come from. Some of these challenges present themselves at times when we least expect them and can cause great difficulties in all areas of our lives. As a Clinical Counselor, my desire is to help clients reach their goal of increased mental health/wellness as well as achieve overall improvement in functioning.
For over 15 yrs., I've worked with individuals regarding personal, family and work related issues. I also work with our Military service members as well as their families on a variety of issues specific to military culture and lifestyle. Although, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person Centered are my primary approach, I believe in an eclectic approach to treatment. It has always been my belief that no one therapy fits all. It is my goal to engage in a collaborative therapeutic relationship with each client to create the best opportunity for lasting change and improvement. I am very appreciative to have the opportunity to engage with clients meeting them where they are and joining in a collaborative therapeutic relationship to assist them in their journeys toward a better and more fulfilling life. The use of person -centered and strength-based approach is essential in my interactions with and in the treatment of clients. Moreover, I am a system thinker and it is necessary for me to view individuals as part of a larger collective of relationships and to beware of the reciprocal effects on the person and the system in which they operate. Thus, I strongly believe that the foundation for effective treatment must include focusing on the whole person.

Katrice was very helpful and supportive. She listened to everything I had to say and when I was finished, she responded with a professional care that I am excited to receive again during my next session.

Katrice Rankin Ward is knowledgable, empathetic, and supportive. She is a great listener and helpful with her reflective remarks and providing tools and probative questions. This is my first experience with counseling. I appreciate Katrice Rankin Ward's conversational approach and her encouragement with respect to matters in interpersonal familial relationships that are out of my control.

It has been great working with Katrice! She understand me and keeps track of the things we talk about well. I generally need more tough love but she has been the perfect mix of understanding, support, challenge and accountability. I have been much better at reframing and at pushing out negative thoughts since meeting with her. I look forward to my sessions!
