Katrina Maher, LPC
About me
I am licensed in Texas with 4 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, coping with grief and loss, motivation, self esteem, and confidence, & depression. My clients are often those who have experienced childhood trauma, those whose anxiety hinders their ability to engage with the world and form friendships, individuals grieving the loss of loved ones or other significant losses, those who struggle with self-doubt and feelings of impostor syndrome, and individuals who feel overwhelmed by sadness or depression to the point where it affects their daily functioning.
I specialize in working with adults who are ready to make significant changes in their lives but are unsure where to begin. These individuals often feel stuck, overwhelmed, and anxious about taking the necessary steps toward transformation. They understand that meaningful change requires time and effort, and they are committed to investing in their mental health journey to achieve their goals.
Through years of working with a diverse range of clients, I've come to appreciate the uniqueness each person brings to therapy. Central to my practice is the belief that you, as the client, are the expert on your own experiences, thoughts, and emotions. Therefore, I employ an eclectic therapeutic approach that respects individual differences, allowing me to tailor treatment specifically to your needs. This includes drawing from various techniques and methods, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to ensure our sessions are effective and meaningful for you. My foundation is person-centered, emphasizing active listening and insightful questioning to deepen my understanding of your experiences. Between sessions, I provide practical tools to support your progress.
