About me

I enjoy working with individuals and couples: helping people communicate better and learning assertiveness skills. I also work with people who are grieving. I use visualization, role playing, split chair, and conflict resolution. My goal is to teach you skills and help you develop your own skill set.

I enjoy working with people in their 20's and 30's and 40's. Younger people are challenged with anxiety, PTSD, and surprisingly, the need to be perfect.

Another group close to my heart are those who have been hurt and/or who struggle with forgiveness.

I want to listen to you, ask questions, and hear what has worked as well as what yet hasn't worked.

Feedback is very important. What have you tried, what parts were successful, and what do you still want to do? How can I help?

My work experiences include: child welfare, counseling teenagers in residential treatment, working as a supervisor then family counselor in corrections (women’s treatment center), counseling in a Christian-based private practice, mental health outreach for the elderly, medical social work including ER support, kidney dialysis social work; and, in retirement couples’ classes and counseling.
