About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) for the State of Virginia.
I am the owner & clinical director of 'Write The Vision-Advocacy Consulting & Counseling.' I received my Master's of Arts (M.A) in Clinical Mental Health- Professional Counseling from South University of VA Beach, VA in December 2013. I received my Bachelor's of Arts (B.A) in Psychology from the HBCU-Norfolk State University in July 2010. I have a variety of experience working in the public and private school sector, Case Management, Crisis Intervention, Intensive-In Home services and Outpatient Therapy.
For about 10 years I've experienced working closely with adults diagnosed with Depression, Anxiety, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective, Bi-polar, PSTD and other forms of trauma.
My counseling style is very interactive, relaxing and peaceful. I share hope and offer compassion throughout the span of treatment. My treatment approach combines Christian Counseling, Cognitive-Behavioral, Client/Person Centered, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance-Commitment, Solution Focused and Reality Therapy. The interventions and treatment goals will be specifically tailored to your needs. We live in a society where mental health is still hard to talk about in most circles. I believe your Mental Health is just as important and valuable as your Spiritual and Physical health. You need all to become a well balance human being. Trust is vital and very much needed in therapy and I will respect your boundaries. I am proud of you for making the first step for a Better and Healthy You! I look forward to meeting and working with you on this Journey.

As for Scheduling, Please Note: Video sessions is the Preferred method of Treatment. This is for your safety and for your therapist to properly assess your concerns and needs. Phone calls and Live Chats will only be accepted for scheduled sessions when there's internet connection issues.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Kim McLeod. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Kim is kind, professional, and listens. I enjoy my sessions with Kim very much. She offers practical and timely methods that have helped me, and given me hope. In a short amount of time I already feel there is hope that I will feel better and before this I felt hopeless. Kim is also a very considerate person. I am grateful I found a therapist like Kim! I am grateful to her for the things she is teaching me.
