About me

Hello! If you are exploring Better Help, it is likely that you are struggling with something significant in your life. Finding the right person to help you through these challenges is very important. If you don't have a good relationship with your counselor, you won't make the progress you are hoping to achieve. I practice Peron Centered Therapy and I believe that the most important aspect of counseling is the therapeutic relationship between you and your counselor. That’s the jumping off point for making positive changes in your life for a happier and healthy future.
I have a MA in counseling from Appalachian State University and am currently fully licensed in North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCHMC). I also hold a license as a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS). I have over thirty (30) years of experience providing individual, group, and family therapy using Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), components of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), rational perspective, Solution Focused therapy and Acceptance Commitment Therapy. I also use trauma Informed treatment for PTSD and severe anxiety. I work with adults with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma, relationship issues and other life challenging issues. I am passionate about working with people and knew in the in junior High School that my calling was to help others.
My agenda in therapy is to assist you in developing goals that will help you achieve the happiness and self esteem to improve your life. I believe in helping you increase your life coping skills that you can use in any challenging situation. If thing you would like to work with me, just reach out. We will have dynamic, exciting, and sometimes challenging road. I am committed to helping you!

Allows a client to figure out issues with both professional and anecdotal advice.

Written on Aug 29, 2023 after therapy with Kimberly for 10 months on issues concerning stress, anxiety, relationship issues, and intimacy-related issues

Kimberly is genuine and honest, while still being kind with her advice. I believe there are simply too many therapists who do not hold their patients accountable. Kimberly does hold me accountable to make better decisions in life, but she has a gift for messaging it.
