It takes courage to take the first steps towards a change. I applaud you for taking the first step toward a more fulfilling, happier life.
I believe that YOU are the expert on you. To help you, I bring a boatload of curiosity and a searching, inquisitive nature. You come to therapy with all the clues inside of you. It is my job to help you find the answers.
I bring tons of life experience – more than this page can fit. It all serves to aid me in helping you know yourself better. Having confronted my own life’s challenges (with plenty of counseling along the way), I may be the best fit for what you are dealing with.
It was always my destiny to become a therapist. I have been studying psychology and neuroscience since I was 17. That curiosity of mine has led me to specialize in different counseling models so that I can create a specialized plan of therapy just for you.
I took a long road to become a professional therapist, doing many non-professional interventions along the way. My graduate degree is from Rollins College in Florida, a small liberal arts school with the best counselor education program I could find. My clients have ranged from 17 to 70, with the majority seeking help with depression, anxiety issues, or life changes.
I know you and I will work well together. I look forward to beginning the therapy journey with you.

Kim is a wonderful therapist. She is empathic, kind and she was a great sounding board while I was navigating a few different life cross roads. She also offered IFS which I was specifically looking for & that brought some peace to past trauma. Highly recommend!

Kim-is one of the best in the business. I say that as I am myself an LCSW. She listens intentionally and arrives with brilliant feedback at each and every turn.

From day one Kim and I clicked. I find her openminded, helpful and above all totally genuine and empathic. She is espcially good with adapting to my spiritual views of the world whilst in sessions, which for some previous counsellors I've had, has not been so easy for them. She is knowledgeable and kind.

This is my first real experience with therapy. Ms. Mendoza has made this as comfortable experience as possible and I feel hopeful for the first time in a long time. She is showing me how to work with myself in order to be more functional in my everday life and just knowing why I do things how I have been has been a relief.
