Kimberly Smith, LPC
About me
I am a Professional Counselor licensed in Alabama with a wide range of professional work experience that has expanded over the last 14 years. My professional journey has given me many unique opportunities to serve in various capacities to include rehabilitation counseling, mental health and substance abuse. I have experience in helping clients with borderline intellectual functioning, substance abuse, schizophrenia, schizoaffective, bipolar, depression and co-occurring disorders. I also have experience in providing insight to stress management techniques, effective coping strategies to manage anxiety, addiction, trauma, parenting issues and complicated grief. Although, my career has lead me on many different paths, my focus has remained the same. Assisting clients I serve in “Moving Forward”. “Moving forward to hope”. “Moving forward to dream”. “Moving forward to live a life you may not have thought was possible otherwise”.
At this moment, you may feel stuck or powerless in the circumstances that lead you to seek out counseling services. However, if given the opportunity it would be an honor to assist you in clearing the path ahead! My approaches to do so include but are not limited to: person centered, cognitive behavioral and solution-focused counseling.
I believe our life experiences shape our emotional lives and how we perceive our realities. As a result, I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.
I look forward to assisting you in Moving Forward!

Kim’s commitment to my healing journey has given me the courage to keep showing up and doing the work of healing because I’m worthy of that. I wouldn’t be where I am if I didn’t have her help along the way. Thank God for her.

Kimberly is kind and genuine. For someone new to therapy, she made me feel safe and was very easy to talk to since the beginning of my therapy. She has provided me with many helpful worksheets and info that I could continue after our sessions that were catered to my specific needs. The tools and advice she has given me in these few months have helped me become a more self aware person and move forward into a more positive space.

After 2 months with Kimberly I can say that she is an attentive person who is committed to understanding what I’m going through and investing in helping me seeing other perspectives in order to addressing my anxieties. I am really thankful for my time with Kimberly, as I feel more confident in myself and more able to advocate for myself and my needs. Would recommend

Kimberly has a truly kind heart and has been genuinely invested in my wellbeing. I was in a really bad place when I began. Kimberly helped me identify my anxiety and equipped me with the right tools and perspective to get better. After only 4 weeks I have experienced real and tangible results. I am beyond grateful to her and this platform.
