About me

I am a passionate, energetic, and dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a love for the art of engagement in the work of therapy with individuals, families, and groups. I have experience working with adults, families, children, adolescents, and providing group based clinical interventions.
My areas of clinical focus are individuals with substance abuse issues; serious mental illness diagnoses; family and role related issues; children and adolescents displaying behavioral difficulties; behavioral modification/interventions; trauma survivors, with a special focus in working with victims of human trafficking; and issues specific to both women and adolescent girls.
My practice is guided by the bio-psychosocial model and an awareness of the interconnected relationship of brain-based responses to psychological functioning or dysfunction with a special concentration on the effects of trauma both in childhood and adulthood related to mental health issues. I have a particular interest in providing therapeutic interventions that reflect a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) informed practice with the intention of increasing my training in this particular modality and a goal of being fully trained to provide DBT adherent clinical services.
Previously, I have provided clinical services in multiple settings to include those such as a residential program, the acute psychiatric care setting, a partial hospitalization program, emergency services with a local Community Service Board, and an adolescent crisis shelter.
My strengths as a clinician and effectiveness as a therapist are founded on an ability to see every clinical interaction as an opportunity to establish and strengthen the therapeutic relationship; the philosophy that accurate and thorough assessment/diagnosis is essential for understanding; high ethical standards; an attitude that seeks out and values collaboration; my belief in the ability for each person to find their recovery no matter the circumstance; and a love for providing therapeutic clinical services.

Laura is a fantastic mental health asset. I really appreciate all she worked with me on regarding my 8yo son and different steps I could take to wrangle him in. Thank you!

Laura was absolutely fantastic. She helped me work through one of the most challenging periods of my adult life. I felt seen and heard by her; and could absolutely not have arrived in a place of peace without her help. She is an absolute gem!

Laura is worth her weight in gold. She is my third BetterHelp therapist, and I have had previous therapists through the NHS. Laura is extremely knowledgeable about many different areas, as well as being compassionate and warm. She also has a great sense of humour! Laura has helped me immensely with a vast range of issues and I genuinely look forward to our sessions. I can’t thank Laura enough for her expertise as well as her understanding, patience and great personality, which shines through everything she does. I hope to work with Laura for as long as I need to.

My time with Laura has been absolutely wonderful and so helpful! I love the way she structures sessions and calls attention to things as I'm describing them. She listens really well. Thank you for everything!

One session in and I feel so so much more positive about therapy. In my 20’s I went to therapy for 6 years in 3 different Countries and went to about 8 different therapists, and literally not a single one was as freeing and helpful as Laura. I mean that in that, what I want to work through, figure out, talk about, and desire for my life, Laura is going to help me with vs. past therapists who essentially were trying to make my own decisions for me and often talked down to me. Laura heard what my goals are for therapy and she’s on board with those goals! I’m thankful and excited to work with Laura to get to a place of feeling like myself again, my best self! For me and my loved ones around me!
