About me

I am a LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) with over 14 years experience working with adults and teens. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, adjustment to life transitions, relationship issues, depression, motivation, self esteem and confidence. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. I provide support, guidance and accountability with kindness and humor. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, or significant life changes, making the decision to ask for help takes courage and is the hardest and most important step. Asking for support can be the most difficult part of the journey, so well done for making the decision to put your mental health first!

My belief is that the counseling process is a collaborative partnership between therapist and client(s). Working together, we will explore current concerns and develop realistic goals. My theory of counseling is Adlerian, which is based on the notion that people are responsible for their behavior, thoughts, and feelings. As an Adlerian counselor, it is my belief that each of us is searching for significance and belonging. Based upon early experiences in life, we develop ways to strive for this significance. Over the course of time, however, we may find that some of these constructed methods are no longer helpful. As a result, we find ourselves discouraged and disconnected from ourselves and others in various aspects of life. In counseling, we will explore areas including your early experiences, belief system, personality style, and coping mechanisms to identify and understand what exactly is no longer working for you. We may focus upon thoughts, feelings and/or behaviors, and a variety of techniques may be introduced. Based upon your insights, we will work together to identify an action-oriented approach for you to achieve your goals.

If you have any questions regarding therapy, please feel free to ask.
