LaWanda Epting, LPC
About me
My name is LaWanda Epting. I graduated from Northeast Louisiana University which is currently the University of Louisiana at Monroe. I hold a Bachelors in Social Work and a Masters in Community Counseling. I am grateful for my first job as a Center Director at a Head Start in Oak Grove, Louisiana. It was this job that help me decide to assist individuals, children and families. There is nothing more rewarding then having someone appreciate your efforts when you are doing what comes natural for you. Caring, encouraging, motivating, listening and empathizing comes natural for me.
In my current professional as a Licensed Professional Counselor, I work with individuals who deal with hardships due to life stressors and also experience symptoms of anxiety, grief, etc. I work from a therapeutic approach using therapies like Client Centered, Solution Focus, Narrative and Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Assisting individuals change from one stage of life to the next using various forms of treatment, is similar to watching a butterfly transform. The thought of thinking about the transformation the butterfly went through to get to that point. I like to think of my style of counseling the same way. Allowing people to change at their own pace.
I look forward to hearing from you. Come sit with me and lets chat.

My time with LaWanda helped me uncover ways I could improve my concerns. I walked away from each session with work that was challenging, but achievable. It was very rewarding to learn how to see my concerns from a new angle.
