Leigh Wayna, LMSW
About me
I am a Clinical Social Worker licensed in Michigan with 16 years of experience working in multiple varied environments. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, OCD and ADHD. I have also had a great deal of experience in crisis counseling, counseling for individuals experiencing mental illness, and substance abuse counseling.
My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe wholeheartedly in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, person centered, psycho-dynamic and motivational interviewing. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I am comfortable working with clients who are seeking help with BDSM and "kink" concerns. (I would be considered a "kink aware" counselor).
It takes courage to seek support for a more fulfilling and happy life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!

I love her! I have tried therapy before and it just didn’t help. I love that Leigh is not afraid to tell me where I am wrong in my thinking and actions and to give direction and advice on how to change my thought process to help me become emotionally healthy and happy

Leigh is a great therapist. She listens, takes her time to hear what your issues or thoughts are and builds a relationship with you with those things in mind. She knows the right questions to ask & never makes me feel like there is a wrong answer. She is patient & supportive which brings an ease to conversations with her.

I found Leigh to be incredibly easy to connect with right away in my first session. Her style is open and empathetic, while providing context and experienced professional wisdom where I needed it. Her ability to help me move forward in my thinking after a significant loss was priceless.

Leigh was my BH counselor from May 2021 to November 2021. I joined BH because I was struggling with self esteem, stress, work/life balance, and depression. I have made more progress with Leigh in just these past 5 months than I ever did with my previous therapists who I had been seeing for years. She was often able to help me slow down and stop catastrophic thinking and look at issues from a different frame of mind. Leigh has given me so many useful mental tools and strategies that have now become common practice in my every day life. While not every day is perfect, I do feel that I am in a place and have the skills now where I can start to do some heavy lifting of my own and pursue new goals. I would have never gotten to this point without Leigh's coaching. The only reason I am leaving BH is because I am now ready to move on to the next chapter of my life. Thank you so much Leigh!!
