Linda Behel, LMFT, LPC
About me
I am Linda Behel, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor, Mental Health Service Provider in Knoxville, Tennessee. I received my master’s degree at the University of Tennessee and later completed a training program for the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. I have been in private practice for over thirty years, and I have had the privilege of working with many different people from all backgrounds. I also have extensive experience in the area of substance abuse, and was the family therapist involved in starting Cornerstone of Recovery, a nationally recognized addiction treatment program which is now a part of the Bradford Health System. In that position, I had the privilege of helping people turn their lives around from addiction to recovery and helping family members deal with the pain caused by this problem.
I consider my counseling style to be warm and supportive. My goal is to help people identify problem areas and the personal strengths that are available to them to begin to address those problems and I also focus on helping people improve communication and relationship skills as a part of problem-solving. I use conitive behavioral and family systems approaches to help people move toward their goals. I treat people dealing with depression, anxiety, grief/loss issues, substance abuse, communication and relationship problems, women's issues, adjustment problems, parenting, and spiritual issues from a Christian perspective. I will look forward to working with you.
