Lindsey Varela, LPC
About me
Have there been times when you felt sad, angry, worried, or unsafe out of nowhere? Have you ever had a hard time putting your thoughts and feelings into words? You are not alone. I work best with teens and adults who feel overwhelmed with life, have difficulty with relationships, and struggle with fluctuating moods to discover what is happening, the root of these occurrences, and ways to heal in the present moment.
My approach to therapy is to meet everyone with genuineness, empathy, and acceptance. I believe you are the expert of you and I will support you in achieving your mental health goals. I often use a combination of approaches such as CBT, DBT Skills, CPT, Mindfulness, and Seeking Safety to support you in achieving balance and safety in your life.
I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Professional Counseling, specializing in Clinical Mental Health from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. When I’m not meeting with clients, I enjoy spending time with my pets, gardening, and crafting. Thank you for taking the first step in your journey towards healing. I look forward to meeting with you!

As someone who struggles to identify what they are feeling Lindsey does a great job identifying emotions and help me "feel" on my body where I might be feeling that emotion. Her understanding and empathy help me open up to talk about subjects I would be reserved on to talking to others.
