About me

Hello!
My name is Lisa Mazzotti and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Addiction Professional in Florida. ~ We will begin your treatment where you are comfortable and work towards the goals you have determined most important for you. I look forward to working with you.
*SPECIALTY AREAS:
I have worked with a wide array of populations including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics in many settings: individual, family, couple, group. I have over 25 years of experience working with issues such as: anxiety, panic disorder, PTSD, self-harm behaviors, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, grieving, abuse victims and perpetrators, and eating disorders, both physical and psychological addictions: Physical addiction is most caused by substances like heroin and methamphetamine, etc. With a physical addiction, a person will experience actual physical symptoms from drug use or withdrawal. Psychological addictions are when we engage in an activity that is very simulating to our brain’s pleasure center, you are more likely to repeat that behavior again in the future, i.e.: watching porn, sexual activities, gambling, video games, exercising, etc. I have over 10 years’ experience in teaching both undergraduate and graduate level Psychology/Sociology courses at various Illinois colleges and in prisons.
