I am a dually licensed clinician in North Carolina and possess an additional license in Florida as well.
Having started my education later in my adult life, I believed I had arrived late to the game. But I found that life experience paired with my own belief system, allowed me the opportunity to view life's challenges through a unique lens.
Throughout my career I have held different positions in mental health. I started at the bottom, and through my education worked my way up, and, because of that I have been able to experience different perspectives while working with this population. I have experience working in addictions residential treatment, Intensive Outpatient Programs, facilitating support groups, teaching life skills, as well as speaking engagements, Through a Christian approach I have worked with many individuals struggling with low self-esteem, purpose, guilt and shame, and a variety of other life's obstacles and helping clients resolve them.
I believe in using a collaborative approach in helping my clients. In addition to my Christian counseling experiences, I also use a multitude of other evidence-based practices, including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Motivational Therapy. I believe myself to be supportive, yet direct. I am compassionate, empathetic and endeavor to provide each client with a safe space to openly work on and address the barriers in their life that are causing them distress, pain, and suffering.

I enjoy speaking with Lois every week. She has helped me with boundaries, and shown me how to feel valued and worthy. She has helped me figure out things that happened in my childhood that affect me today in relationships and is helping me to overcome those things. She has recommended some resources and they have been very helpful as well.
I really enjoy her laid back approach. I don't fear speaking to a "therapist" because she makes it feel like I'm speaking to a friend. She shares how she has overcome things, and lets me know I have the ability to overcome things too.
