About me

I am currently licensed in Michigan with 43 years of professional work experience. I started my career in Northern CA, then furthered my work in Tucson, Arizona until arriving on the shores of Lake Superior 28 years ago. I came to this work in my early 20's as I realized how many humans struggle to find physical, emotional and mental well-being. (I was one of those youth who faced many such struggles.) I have experience in helping clients with challenges around stress and anxiety, relationship issues, family conflicts including substance abuse, & trauma and abuse.

I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Taking steps to sign up for therapy takes courage and I am grateful you are exploring therapy as an opportunity to improve the quality of your life.

"True personal growth is about transcending the part of you who is not okay and needs personal protection." Michael A Singer

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Lucy Wilcox. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I found Lucy at the darkest point of my life when it was almost impossible for me to find treatment due to the ravaging severity of my eating disorder. She has stood by me through this past year- the hardest year of my life by far- with the purest support I have ever received from a therapist. Our work together has been life saving. I cannot even assign words to describe how incredible she is at what she does. I love better help and I love Lucy!

She listens, she takes notes, she picks up on the things that make me uncomfortable. Those things that probably lead me to therapy in the first place. And it feels good to actually talk about it in a safe setting. I appreciate her style. I've only sat with her twice but I'm eager for our 3rd session.

Lucy is better than fresh-baked, homemade bread! And I love warm, homemade bread. She listens, she shares, she empathizes, and she tells me what I need to hear. She's the mom I never had, the friend I know I needed, and the support everyone should have in life. As a 50+ female, I needed someone who was further along than I am in life, who has been there, succeeded, and has some tools to pass along for this next part of my life journey. She has helped me sort out years of religious trauma, marital stress, and personal frustration. I came out of all 3 with my marriage still intact, and some goals and dreams for my future.
She is simply the best. I fondly call her MY Lucy, but I suppose I will share her with you. :)
