About me

I graduated with a MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and I am licensed in NY State as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I am licensed in SC as Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I am also a National Certified Counselor (NCC). My professional life has included working in a community Mental Health clinic with people of all ages and backgrounds. In this role I have encountered a variety of life stages and situations, such as depression, anxiety, stress and trauma related issues, career exploration, caregiver fatigue, developmental disabilities, anger management, self-esteem issues, and substance use issues.

I use concepts from Cognitive Behavior therapy, in which we will look at the interplay between thoughts, feelings and actions and how unhelpful thoughts can pull us down emotionally and drive our behaviors in unhealthy ways. In knowing these things, we can adjust unhelpful thoughts and develop actions plans that will help you move forward on your goals. I also use a person-centered /positive psychological approach. I am here to listen with compassion and empathy and I strive to provide a warm, open space - free of judgement.

I am available through messages which I will check daily, along with live chat, video sessions or phone sessions. My calendar is available for you to schedule appointments with me. My schedule may not accurately reflect all available sessions, so please message me if you need something other than what's available.

I look forward to working with you!

Margaret is very kind and a good listener. It is easy for me to tell her personal things about me with her kind and open-hearted style. She has shared several tools with me for improving my communication with others, and practical tips for recognizing and honoring my own values that I can apply to my daily life. She has been very helpful to me.

Margaret is a great therapist and I always leave our sessions with greater clarity and self-compassion than I came in with.

Margaret is supportive and helpful. She has been a great source of information for me to bounce ideas off of. I like the video chat format, but the email messages are also good. She responds at night mostly, but I don't mind that because I stay up fairly late.

Margaret is absolutely wonderful. I feel like she has the knowledge to know when to push me and when to let me figure out things on my own. She always offers so many ways to communicate and different resources for me. She’s great!
