About me

I obtained a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology from UNC-Chapel Hill and an MSW from the Loyola University Chicago with a concentration in direct practice and mental health.  I have been in the social work field for over 11 years. I incorporate an eclectic therapeutic approach which draws from various theoretical perspectives and evidenced based practices in order to provide individualized care tailored to your specific needs. I offer LGBTQIA+ affirming and body positive care. I am passionate about empowering and collaborating with my clients to build their most fulfilling life through increasing insight and mindful awareness into their emotional wounds and lived experience, to grow self love and acceptance, and build relationships that are healthy and affirming.

I believe that we are all equipped with an inner guidance system that pushes us to grow anytime we are out of alignment with our highest selves. Oftentimes, this guidance comes in the form of pain or emotional discomfort. Many of us may identify this pain as depression or anxiety symptoms, feelings of inadequacy, low-self-esteem, grief, anger, fear, or hopelessness. The ways in which we respond to our pain has tremendous implications for future healing and overall quality of life. Action is necessary in order to create change. If you have arrived at this page then you have already begun taking action to improve your circumstances.

The official line: I am a therapist that has a wide background in the mental health field. The human line: I believe connection and vulnerability takes courage. Life is hard. Through the power of sharing your story and myself as a passenger in your journey, we can make life feel less like you're losing the battle and more like you're the hero in your own story.
