Marilyn Turneur, LISW
About me
Hi, I’m Marilyn
Thanks for checking out my profile.
I’m a Licensed Independent Social Worker with 12 years of experience licensed in Ohio. I have worked with a variety of agencies specializing in trauma, grief and working with people who have addictions. I have helped clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, grieving, social interactions, personality disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
My counseling style is gentle and interactive. I believe in working together to find strategies and solutions that work for you and your specific situation. I have experience with various types of therapy including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Psychotherapy. What I find that tends to work best is active listening and engaging. Sometimes finding what is at the core of our problems happens when we least expect it. The therapy techniques merely help us make sense of what we are thinking and feeling. Change may occur as a result of consistent journaling, mindfulness, music or a combination of these or other interventions. Each person is different and unique.
I would love to meet with you and accompany you on your journey to set and accomplish your personal goals.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Marilyn Turneur. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Marilyn is very understanding and respects my feelings/opinions. However, she is quick to challenge me when I'm believing lies. She points me back to scripture and reminds me what God says about the issue at hand. She is an encouragement to me.

I have had 2 sessions with Marilyn so far, and I have enjoyed them both. I enjoy the questions she asks to get to know me and dig a little deeper. I also enjoy the worksheets that she sends to help me look within myself. I feel like she’s listening and it’s a judgement free zone.

Really great therapist. Understands the traditional and strict family dynamics in my life blended with faith. Understands me as a millennial moving forward from those traditional dynamics.
