About me

I am a licensed mental health counselor in Washington state with four years experience working with individuals struggling with addictions, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, and posttraumatic stress disorders. I have worked with women who were in domestic violence relationships living in shelters. I have worked with women in recovery in substance use treatment services wanting better lives for them and their children. While in this position I learned a great deal about about trauma and survival.

I went back to school in my early 40's transitioning from an automotive mechanic to mental health counseling. I have lived in California, Nevada, Arizona, Idaho, and Washington state where I currently reside. My counseling style is client centered and eclectic with a little humor. I have recently been training in eye movement desensitization reprocessing or EMDR and internal family systems. I think of myself as a culturally competent individual with a open mind and try my best to be nonjudgmental. I am Native American and have a spiritual perspective and believe all living things should be respected.

Change is hard and it takes courage and hard work, it can be scary at times, however you do not have to do it alone. I would like to work with you in seeing you through to the end and a life worth living. Life is a journey with lessons that can be hard and rewarding at the same time. I try and provide two skills per-week, you can use what you want and leave the rest. These skills do work, however only if you practice them.

Marion showed me she has a wealth of knowledge and expertise which includes a skill set to encourage me to feel promising towards my internal challenges. I feel confident that she can help me and value very much how comfortable it is for me to talk. I felt understanding that gives a good sense of trust to dive into my inner workings. Thank you!

I've only had two sessions with Marion, but I just sent them a "Thank You" message after reflecting on our chat this morning. Their demeanor, insight, methods of sharing suggestions and ideas is just mellow but clear, and helpful.

I'm just really grateful and would definitely recommend Marion to anyone.

Marion is a wonderful therapist. I feel very comfortable being open and honest about all areas of my life, because I know it won’t be followed with judgement. She also doesn’t give you answers, instead leads you to determine your feelings and readjust appropriately.

Marion is amazingly good as a person and as a therapist. Smart, attentive, collaborative, and informative. Finally, a therapist who has what I’ve needed for years
